The following info shall give you a few more pointers about who I am and what I do ;)
I
am born 1984 (hence the 84 in my usual nickname and the blog URL) and
from Germany. Originally I studied foreign languages at a business
school and never really had any issues with picking up languages at
school nor barely had to learn either ... so it was the most logical
choice. Now you may ask, why languages? I am not sure if I got a talent
for them, but I can learn them much faster as most people and do speak
English and French (the written part can be quite annoying though when
you don't use it for a while) pretty much fluently. I am still trying to
get rid of my German accent, but at times it can be pretty useful ;)
I
started playing poker for fun in late 2005 after the first boom for
online poker started with Chris Moneymaker (the perfect name and the
perfect story) and since than found it more and more interesting. I was
fortunate enough to win a live event package through 888 in 2007 and
cashed in both my live tourneys back in the days, obviously Sin City was
amazing when I was there the first time.I still enjoy to play poker
... but my priorities have slightly changed and I am more thrilled to
write about poker and just hit the tables for fun to refresh my mind.
I
was working as freelancer for translations and marketing in the past
and got a job as admin for a social and online poker community. I do
enjoy my job, even though it can be pretty tough, frustrating and overwhelming at
times ... . However it does give me the opportunity to combine my hobby with
my work and the "German blood" as well as the ability to work under pressure helps to get
almost everything sorted out. Besides that I am also working as
freelancing blogger for live event coverages and work bot for different
projects such as the Mega Poker Series.
Right
now I am not 100% sure where I will go in the near future, but I always
seen myself as European rather than German ... I was at the UK a few
times and also spent half a year at France during an internship. Moving
to an English speaking country in the next few years is definitely an
option, even though nothing is sorted out yet and also depends on other
personal priorities if you know what I mean ;).
