And so it begins ... PokerStars moves all German players to .eu client

Tuesday, July 17, 2012 Posted by Unknown , No comments
It is not really surprising after other nations have already been moved from the .com client to .eu, yet I didn't expect them to react that fast to the potential law changes in Germany regarding online gambling. Anyways, Poker Germany on the market leader will now settle from the evil DotCom to EUrope - coincidence much?

Just to clarify though, the .eu players still share the same player pool as .com, it's more the potential legal implications in the not so distant future that may arise. After all the German government is trying to master the evil gambling beast for some time already even though the existing gambling law violates EU law.

Dear ___,

PokerStars has recently introduced the new PokerStars.eu client! We are fully licensed within the European Union, and regulated by the Maltese Lotteries and Gaming Authority.

As part of the launch of the new client, your account will be moved to PokerStars.eu. Please note that this applies to all players from Germany, and is compulsory.

The migration of your account to PokerStars.eu will not affect your playing experience in any way. Everything stays the same for you:

  • You will retain the same username
  • You will still have access to all your usual games and promotions
  • Your account balance, VIP Status, Monthly and Yearly VPP counts, bonus and 2012 Stellar Rewards progress will remain unchanged after the migration
The date of the migration will be 19/07/2012.

1. When you next start the PokerStars client on your desktop and log in, on or after this date, you will be prompted to update your software to the new version. Simply follow the instructions on-screen, and the new client will be installed within minutes.

2. If you are playing in any tournaments at the time of migration, you will be permitted to finish these before your account is moved.

3. Please note: Your account will not be moved if you are registered, or playing, in a tournament. Please unregister from all tournaments before completing this process.

If you have any questions regarding the migration of your account, please check out our FAQ site. or email to support@pokerstars.eu.

Are you using the PokerStars Mobile App?
If you have been enjoying our Mobile Poker game client, note that you can no longer play on the .com version. After you successfully completed migration by logging in on your desktop game client, please download the .eu Mobile Poker game client to continue playing. It is now available for both iOS & Android handsets. You can find the new .eu iOS version on the App Store. The Android version and more information can be found at http://www.pokerstars.eu/mobile/.

Have fun at our tables

+++ I even witnessed 50% less bad beats and won 3/4 hands where I was massive favor with a huge sample size of 50 hands on Zoom Poker, so it is already proven that .eu is by far better. Just kidding, if you believe any of last sentence, you should probably join the "Poker is rigged" thread on Two Plus Two ;)  +++
