Generation lol

We all have heard it before and also lol’d, especially when you read this blog entry on the internet. But do you actually know what lol means or has it already become common “internet slang”? And if you actually find something funny, do you lol, pmsl, lmao, rofl or even roflmao? I lol almost every day, sometimes less and sometimes more – what about you?

There are so many abbreviations and especially for people that are not used to it yet, it might be pretty confusing. We even use it as part of the poker terminology as well, do you actually play to TID or do you just want to finish ITM? And do you also get annoyed when the BU always tries to steal your BB? I sometimes try to call and CR on the flop, but often they are already committed after the cbet and even though you have been miles ahead, they manage to hit RR and take your chips.

Some are able to control their emotions and simply lol, others just type in “fu”, “fml” and tilt away the remaining chips or cash. Of course there is no limit for the creativity of abuse and when someone doesn’t want to stop, I sometimes just reply by using “np, yw”. You would be surprised how often that actually works to tilt the opponent even more, lol.

LOL is the abbreviation for “laughing out loudly” and used pretty frequently as reply when you find something funny. But is it really that complicated to actually say it was funny? Are we already that lazy or don’t have enough time? Sure, there is by far more stress in our current society and often we cannot find the right words, but it is also kinda fascinating what you realize when you just take a little bit of time and think about it.
Yours sincerely,

LOL

J/K it was supposed to be serious …

ROFL

Well okay, you know what I mean …
