Oh Mayflower where art thou?!

A few centuries ago, settlers wanted to find a new home and felt they were not treated fairly … they left good old Europe on ships and one of them was called Mayflower. Well, it will be May soon but there is no need to buy any flowers for the current US government either, most online poker players and news pages already call it the Black Friday and April 15th will surely change the landscape of online poker for quite some time.

It is fascinating though that Europe is now the hiding place for the big American poker sites as the .com domains have been seized by the Department of Justice and the FBI.

Pokerstars.com -> Pokerstars.eu
FullTiltPoker.com -> FullTiltPoker.co.uk
AbsolutePoker.com -> AbsolutePoker.eu
UB.com -> UBPoker.eu

PokerStars and FullTilt have already blocked all American players and they cannot access the cashier anymore, deposit and withdraw or send money to other players via p2p transfer. Of course this is just a step of the poker sites at the moment to gain control over the situation, as most players will certainly panic and try to get their money out as soon as possible.

All guaranteed prizepools have already been cut off, an interesting start to the next FTOPS season and all Sunday Majors on Pokerstars also have a lower prizepool. The only sites that will still let American players invest their locked money at the real money tables are AP and UB, yet you can’t deposit or withdraw their either. P2P has also been disabled, but according to the support they are already working on new payment processors to make the funds available for their American customers again.

Which ship will leave the American harbor next and what poker sites and networks are still on the black list of the US government? I guess only time will tell … fingers crossed, because the Maya’s might have been off by one year with their predictions. At least for some Americans, this appears to be the end of the world ... what happened to the land of the free?
