The art of poker - a poem

Saturday, May 11, 2013 Posted by Unknown , No comments
I haven't really blogged much as of lately and also took some time off to finally get some rest before the summer kicks in with full swing. I was thinking about coming up with a little poem to put in words that poker is by far more than just a card game. Hope you'll enjoy it, any feedback is highly appreciated.

Every day the dealers are shuffling,
Taking care of the session in full swing,
What will the cards this time bring?

Lady luck is part of the game we love and hate,
On the way to create brand new glory,
There is always a random bad beat story,
Deciding at her own will over our fate.

The water with so many sharks can be quite rough,
Add some trash talk and a big triple barrel bluff,
But will that really be convincing enough?

Years of experience to master every situation,
Staff and tournament directors have an eagle eye,
Regardless of the crazy hours they are always there,
Media and bloggers as well waiting nearby,
Using wit and pun to present the latest sensation.

Of course the massage girls not to forget,
Reviving your body and soul to avoid an upset,
In the zone to successfully conquer a prop bet.

Consistently working on the game as one key to win,
Never let emotions fully take over control,
While the commentators try to look into your soul,
Giving the show on TV an extraordinary spin.

All of a sudden the draw heavy Board causes shiver,
Only one card still to come that is called the River,
A big shout when the "one time" does deliver.
