Poker770 to host #ISPT Online Satellites

Friday, August 31, 2012 Posted by Unknown , , No comments
The International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT) has not only caused uproar through the attempted deal of Groupe Bernard Tapie to purchase Full Tilt Poker, but it also promises to be the biggest live tournament thus far with 30,000 participants and an astonishing prize pool of €20,000,000 at the Wembley Stadium in London. Not all details have been revealed yet, but a press conference is foreseen during the Final of the Partouche Poker Tour at Cannes and will be held on Monday September 3rd. Furthermore, the first two official ambassadors for the event have been announced with Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi as well as UK sensation Sam Trickett.

French iPoker skin Poker770 will be the first poker site to host online satellites for the ambiguous project as of September 2012 and the below info has been published on their website. The Qualifier structure contains a three Step SNG system where you can win the entry for as low as €6 as well as a daily Rebuy tournament.

You can buy into each Stage with cash or try to work up your way. The initial 9 handed Step 1 SNG will have a Buy-In of €5.75+€0.25 and award two Tokens worth €22, the third place finisher receives a €6 Token to try again and the 4th place will be credited with €1.75 in cash.

The Step 2 SNG is similar and requires a Buy-In of €21+€1, again the first two advance and get an €80 Token whereas the 3rd can try again with a Step 2 Token worth €22. 4th place pays a €6 Token for Step 1 and the 5th place finisher gets a consolation prize of €1.

Winning a €600 ISPT Buy-In can be achieved in two different ways:

1) 9 handed Step 3 SNG  with a €78+€2 Buy-In

The Final Stage of the Sit'n'Go schedule will award a €600 ISPT Buy-In to the first place finisher, whereas 2nd (€80 Token) and 3rd (€22 Token) can try to win their entry through the Steps again.

2) ISPT Daily Final with a €21+€1 Buy-In

The daily Rebuy tournament at 20:30 GMT has a Buy-In of €22 with a minimum of 9 players required to kick off, the late registration will be open until the end of Level 9 and unlimited Rebuy's are available until the first break for €20. One optional Add-On during the first break can be purchased for another €20 and one ISPT Entry will be awarded for each €600 in the prize pool. Furthermore, all participants are required to have a valid passport or proof of identity and should be at least 18 years old.

The Mega Poker Series - powered by Poker770

Thursday, December 22, 2011 Posted by Unknown , No comments
The deep stack format at live poker tournaments is becoming more and more popular and for almost all big games like the Main Event of the WSOP, EPT, and WPT you see a deep structure that favors the skilled players. There is lots of room to make moves without fear of busting on your first three-barrel bluff and there are lots of online qualifiers to give players an opportunity to participate in their first major live tournament.

The Mega Poker Series is taking the same approach with an enormous starting stack of 77,000 chips and blind levels that last 77 minutes, giving players the opportunity to test their skills at the tables. So far, the tour will consist of four events in 2012; the first two are set for Vienna and Nottingham.
Both locations offer excellent atmospheres and years of experience hosting live poker events. In fact, the Montesino Casino in Vienna and the Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club in Nottingham are well known and highly respected on the poker circuit.

Whether you’re a pro or just starting to play poker, with a moderate buy-in of €770 and several online qualifiers available, the Mega Poker Series is an excellent chance to get some experience at the poker tables and find your way from online to live poker. The Event Series is powered by Poker770, however players can participate in qualifiers throughout the iPoker Network. Every week, there are two satellites taking place where at least one package each worth €1,500 is guaranteed.

Furthermore, there is an opportunity to earn a VIP pass with additional benefits that only VIP players can take advantage of and VIP players will receive extra points for the overall leaderboard as well as a token for the next super satellite if they knock out a Poker770 Pro in a Main Event of the Mega Poker Series. Add an exclusive players party on top of all that and it pays to become a VIP for this tournament series.

The estimated prize pool is €200,000 and the first event will take place from January 18th to 22nd in the heart of Europe at the Montesino Casino in Vienna. The Austrian capital is easy to reach from various directions and offers plenty of sightseeing potential and excellent food. For now, the Mega Poker Series will host four events in 2012 and all participants will also score points for the overall leaderboard with a very competitive point structure.

If you enjoy poker as much as we do, you will love the amazing structure of the Mega Poker Series!

770 Pro Koen De Visscher takes 2nd place in iPoker 200k Guaranteed

Monday, September 12, 2011 Posted by Unknown , No comments

Poker770 Pro Koen De Visscher has already shown outstanding results earlier this year when he finished 3rd at EPT Snowfest and is considered as one of the best Belgian players on the poker circuit right now. He also added a victory at the previous WCOOP to his list of cashes and went deep at EPT Barcelona a few weeks ago, just missing out on the last 3 tables of the tournament.

You can find him as JeankeNissan on Pocket Fives and PokerStars (jeankenissan), on Poker770 he is playing under the alias Lalapaloolalala and just finished 2nd in the weekly 200k Guaranteed on iPoker, outlasting a very tough field only to lose with Pocket 8s against Ace-Two in Heads-Up play.

Down to the last 100 players, he won two important hands with A-6 suited against Pocket 9s and A-9 spades vs 8-8 on a 5-4-3 Flop with 2 Spades to become Chipleader with about 70 players left, he never looked back and always stayed in the top 3 until the Final Table from there on. For his efforts he earned a nice payday of $23,780 and has shown consistently strong performances at the tables in the last few weeks.

The Belgian Team Pro is also part of the Bounty Pro tournament series on Poker770 as well, where you can play against a different Pro each day and score a sweet $100 for knocking them out. The Buy-In is only €5.50 and if you happen to knock out more Pros in the same week, you can even increase your bounty prize up to $2,000 or an incredible one year sponsorship in the Pro Team!

Koen De Visscher will also be participating in the Free Poker Festival on this upcoming weekend (September 17th and 18th) at Spa / Belgium and all Team Pros will have a special bounty on their head. You can follow the tournament coverage for this exclusive 770 tournament on the Team770 page, there are more than €13,000 up for grabs.

The Casino of Spa will see an exclusive poker tournament with 500 players max. divided into two fields of 250 each and the event will take place September 17th and 18th 2011.

Busy next few weeks ahead ...

Wednesday, March 16, 2011 Posted by Unknown , No comments
As of lately I had to limit my social interaction and create a new time management, because I picked up a part time job that includes checking an existing translation and quite often also improving promotions (that was not part of the deal but hey ... I am always there to help lol). In the upcoming weeks I will probably also cover 3 live events for a poker site and their german player team:

EPT Snowfest: Mar 20 - 25, 2011 (online)
WPT Vienna: Mar 25 - 29, 2011 (live)
EPT Berlin: Apr 5-10, 2011(live)

I could have already had a media wristband for the EPT Snowfest but the planning was with too much short notice and thus we decided that I should not go there live and concentrate on the other two events. I am still waiting for a confirmation for the media credentials for the last two events, but think that should not be a problem and if so, I can also use some work contacts to speed up the process.

With a regular job of 50+ hours per week, the translation work (2-3h per day, depends how much time I have) and already some planning in advance for the upcoming month and the redesign of several promotions and deals, there is not much "me time" left. Fortunately I enjoy what I do and I also know that this is just a temporary solution for now, I am more than happy to use my knowledge and experience for those projects.

The only point that I don't like under these circumstances is that I had to postpone my plans for Canada right now. I miss Canada, my friends over there and the Tim Horton's coffee. But hey, good things come to those that wait ;)
