Groundhog Day

I am pretty sure most of you still remember the movie "Groundhog day" with Bill Murray and for me that is usually the same when my computer crashes ... because you have the same old routine to install all programs again, play coinflips against the own memory to remember all passwords etc.

This time though it's a little bit different, some people seem to care about one specific day every year and to me it's just a day as every other ... and if I want something to "celebrate" my birthday, I just go and buy it. Of course as kids we were all happy, but as adults we are more considerate and grown up, at least I hope so.

I was thinking of getting a new laptop for quite a while and was already on the hunt in the last 1-2 weeks, yesterday 1h before the shop closed I walked down and used my "gut feeling" to get a new laptop for work. The last one is not awfully slow and just 1 1/2 years old, but was only an i2 Dual Core and the new one is a really sick improvement.

Since we are all creatures of habit, we need to feel comfortable to give our best and do stupid things when that is not the case. This doesn't just apply for work, poker ... it is the same for almost everything in life. If you want to see better results, you have to invest more time or money to improve and the short term loss pays off in the long run if you stay focused.

Guess I better get back to installing all programs, the PT3 database backup from my previous laptop works fine and all documents are also easily copied over ... installing all poker clients might be a hassle, finding the server details for the email client a slight headache ... but hey, that's part of the game.

P.S. no it's not my birthday, I just could not be arsed anymore to wait 2 more weeks
