Well it has been a while since I published my last blog (September 25th hmm) and I have been working a fair bit lately, the traveling was nice but I was barely able to enjoy the other countries except some long morning sessions near the coast in Opatija / Croatia. With all the working hours on the live events and me catching a cold due to "Las Vegas style AC", I at least lost some more weight and am now down -13 kilos in total ... guess that is at least something.
In theory, I am now only 1-2 kilos away from my goal but those are only numbers and not how I feel ... not sure if there is any polite version for it so I just skip that part ;) The healthy food, no alcohol and no coffee run continues but I was not able to work out as regularly in the last few weeks. In 5 days I am heading to Amsterdam for the live coverage of the Master Classics, once I am back on November 11th I can get back into the gym slouch until the end of the month before Prague is calling for the WPT and EPT in a row.
My Irish Winter Festival coverage got canceled 2 days before the start where I was unable to cancel my bookings anymore and made the trip to not let it go waste for nothing, being sick the whole time kinda destroyed the fact that I got to meet many familiar faces though but you always gotta keep a positive attitude. I won't be going to Copenhagen for the WPT either, but at least this way my body can get some rest and reload the batteries.
The WPT National Vienna and the Mega Poker Series Croatia were a success from a personal point of view. For the WPT I was asked to write an article over two pages for the German PokerBlatt and this will be my first print article where I was specifically requested and get paid for, always a nice confidence boost :) From Vienna we headed straight to Croatia with a bus and to be honest, next time I will check for flights instead as the 9h each way were a bit too much and screwed up my whole travel time even more. But 284 runners in Opatija compared to the 178 from Pokerstars' Eureka Event back in April were a decent turnout and the Deepstack Festival ended with the back to back win of Spanish raise-bot Samuel Bernabeu ... I like his style :)
Remaining schedule for now:
November 7th - 10th: Master Classics of Poker Amsterdam
December 3rd to 9th: WPT Prague
December 9th to 15th: EPT Prague
The EPT Snowfest with a 1,100€ Buy-In may be another option in the mid of December, but so far it has not been confirmed yet. It would be a good opportunity for all German speaking Team Pros of Poker770 though to end the year with a bang :)
To be continued ...
